Your new company

This company is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fasteners and joining products. While they have a significant presence in most Countries, North America is the missing link and they are looking to expand significantly over the next five years. The markets they serve our Automotive, Industrial & Construction however they will initially focus on Construction while they expand in the US & Canada. They are now looking for Quality & Application Engineers & Laboratory Technicians to oversee testing of their products, as they grow.

Your new role

The successful Laboratory Technician, you'll review testing procedures and take necessary actions to ensure proper testing can be performed. Your responsibilities include preparing samples/specimens and conducting required tests, sorting and delivering specimens to workstations, and loading them into laboratory instruments. You'll also handle incoming specimens or solutions, participate in quality control procedures and inventory management, and maintain accurate record-keeping in line with quality and safety programs. Ensuring the accuracy and calibration of laboratory testing equipment, performing routine inspections to determine maintenance needs, and using software programs like MS Office to collect or input data are also part of the role.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal Laboratory Technician will have experience in performing tests, handling sensitive information, and managing testing specimens and data is required. You must be able to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, to meet project deadlines. A college diploma in civil or mechanical engineering or a related field is ideal. Strong attention to detail and adherence to strict processing procedures are essential. You should have a willingness to continuously learn and keep up with product testing knowledge. Knowledge of fastening products is also important.
